What started as a fun project has really taken on a life of its own. I had no idea there were so many women who love handbags as much as me. My family and close friends were the first ones to buy my bags and with their encouragement (and one very reliable sewing machine) I kept producing more. A friend invited me to show my designs at her shop and people began asking for custom bags. Soon I was doing the home party circuit.

After completing 400 handbags in one year, DK Fabrics and Handbags was born! I've moved my operation from my living room to a great storefront in Barrington, RI. My new space offers so many possibilities. First and foremost, I will now be offering gorgeous home decorator fabrics by the yard for all your projects. I also have a wonderful selection of beautiful ribbon, fringes, and beaded trims.

Best of all, our new store is the perfect spot for our handbag parties! Now you can see and touch the fabric and this should make the creative process even more fun for you and me both.
The ideas keep coming and so I promise to keep sewing. Thanks to all of you for sharing my enthusiasm for fabrics and handbags!
